Maid for the Role
Some people are always very eager to please, more especially so when it can prove advantageous to them and as we can see from the image below William appears to be one of these. Having spent weeks in such a role, I wonder will he be able to retain a grip on his masculinity. Or more to the point- will he be allowed to do so.
Many thanks to Jennifer for inserting the text in a more readable format.
The image at the top of the blog has been posted before and I came upon it by chance looking for something else. However, the idea of finding oneself in such a situation -encased in a long, tight and restrictive corset under several silk, satin and taffeta petticoats and a heavy satin gown surrounded by mature and controlling ladies- was just too much to resist and I just had to re-post
Thanks again to Jennifer who also kindly supplied and inserted the text into this image.
I often wonder do Gen Z or whatever 20-30 somethings are now called, find this type of forced femme as erotic as previous generations.
Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.
Take care
Carrie

Dear Carrie,The fall off in blog visits is most probably caused by recently introduced ONLINE SAFETY ACT introduced last July by the sanctimonious, mendacious present government to basically control the internet.Their dislike of the people enjoying themselves is anathema to them as they are a joyless shower of bodywaste and with the plod trawling Social Media for "offensive" post's has put some users off,Yours Julia D.
ReplyDeleteDear Julia,
ReplyDeleteThank you for that info.
From what someone else had mentioned I suspected it was a Google requirement but your confirmation that it is the Online Safety Act clarifies the issue. From the very start of this blog I ensured that I ticked the “Sensitive Content Warning” box to make sure visitors were aware of adult content and then stated in the blog’s heading that there is no nudity or sex scenes contained within.
FFS, what more do they want?
If minors want to access it they will(although I doubt the will be interested in the content) – I remember only too well doing all sorts of shit when underage including accessing porn. Probably not a good exaple, look how I turned out!
They’ve obviously gone to the King Canute school of delusion.
I suppose I have a sentimental attachment to the blog and more importantly its readers, who have been very encouraging and supportive over the years. I would not have had the confidence to write without them, so part of me is reluctant to end it. For now, I’ll continue to post for a while and then decide if it’s worth carrying on.
Take care
Carrie
Dear Carrie,You have turned out very well one of the best author's of this genre your stories have a delightful "Sting in the Tale" element that never ceases to entertain. As to OLSA this is basically designed for yuk politicians to control the Internet and also yuk google's reaction to this to cover their bum's.Looking forward to reading "Maid for the Role" when you are able to publish it as your most recent Reputational Damage was truly excellent this seeing a poor male being manipulated into attiring himself in feminine corsetry i could not stop giggling.Carrie i note there is interest in a further ASP Chapter to see how our hero(ine) Daphne is progressing now that his Guardians Amelia and Sophie have allied themselves with Rozamund and the Countess,I foresee an en femme future ahead for him, please consider writing further on this subject.
DeleteThank you Julia for your kind words, encouragement and support.
ReplyDeleteBy sheer coincidence I caught a bit about it on a UK radio station this week and from the little I heard the Act was designed to protect teenagers against serious porn sites. I’m aware of and get the reasons behind the OLSA but these are commercial sites and unfortunately this blogs and others like it are collateral damage.
So glad you liked Reputational Damage, the original idea was to follow our hero to NY and for him to be introduced into NY high society(and there is plenty of scope for that) but I just wasn’t sure I could commit the time to it right now-but I may get back to it. Ditto ASP but it’s been so long since I wrote it I’d have to read myself back into it to ensure any future chapter would be consistent with the original story- hope that makes sense, won’t rule it out, though.
Better get back to Maid for the Role while I have an hour or two.
Thank you again and take care.
Carrie
Dear Carrie,I ALWAY'S look forward to All your wonderful stories and as we have had sooo much rain this Winter i sat down elegantly of course as Lady de Winter would approve and re read AVVE marvelling at your prose till the perfect ending.I experienced a revelation after the illustrations in the tale i shall have made for me a Victorian Tea Gown with a Bustle in Tea Rose Pink with a Mandarin Neckline and matching Lace Applique for a Victorian themed Charity Ball in May.My husband who is tall will attire in male evening dress too we have locally a very bespoke Dressmaker/Coutourier who will make the ensemble with three Petticoats one of silk, two of Tulle plus i have a pair of mid calf lace up boots with 4 1/2"heels and underwear to suit too.Yours Julia.
DeleteDear Julia
ReplyDeleteIndeed, the rain this winter has been horrendous but hopefully here in this part of the north east Atlantic we may get a half decent Spring/Summer.
Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement and delighted you enjoyed AVVE.
I’m so jealous of your Tea Gown- a bustle how very ladylike! I expect you’re well practiced at maneuvering it and your petticoats (silk and tulle- again so jealous) when lowering yourself to sit. The 4 ½ inch heeled boots will ensure a most feminine gait. I’m sure you’ll be the belle of the Ball.
I thought the story inspired by “Maid for the Role” would come to about 5-6k words but it became a little more involved than I’d expected and although I’m close to 5k words, the story is nowhere near finished. So rather than wait until it is finished- which I know will take an age as I’m really busy right now- I will post in two parts, I am very close to finishing the first part and I expect to post sometime later this week.
Hopefully, it will meet your expectations.
Take care
Carrie
Thank you Dear Carrie for your prompt reply and best wishes for the Charity Dance next month it is not a ball i'm sad to say but there are donated prizes for 1st,2nd and 3rd best attired and best comportment couples in aid of the Red Cross of course. We are brushing up on the Waltz,Polonaise and Cotillion which were in vogue around 1890 and your Lady Charlotte is an inspiration to us via your writing the venue is Knebworth,Herts. With regard to AVVE that is a proper finished story no less and the illustrations have been exceedingly helpful to us so i am sure your fans will welcome Maid for the Job when published,Yours Julia.
DeleteDear Carrie,I came across AWIP last night (How did i miss it?) what a lovely read and sorry to say Carrie it needs a follow up sad to give you more writing though as our heroine needs a name and to see how "Girl" progresses under his Mistress, the Redoubtable Miss Windsor and his new Mentor Janet.Reading the very pointed comments of the two Jenny's from CA and NJ i would recommend DVD's of Upstairs/Downstairs,Downton Abbey and Gosford Park which reveal the hierarchy and intrigue of below and above stairs,my relatives in PA and TX adopted my suggestions and were delighted also BBC/WHGB Boston have produced over the years many relevant co/productions in very good taste too.
DeleteCarrie had a 1st fitting yesterday for my Victorian Tea Dance Gown with the three petticoats one of silk and two now of Organza instead of Tulle as there was a long delay in supply. My youngest daughter Victoria accompanied me was nearly overwhelmed by the dress,Miss Laura the Couturier is a very talented Dressmaker too,Yours Julia.
Dear Julia,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked AWIP- I’d forgotten about it and will have to re read.
Regarding endings, I lean towards the view that it’s better to journey than to arrive and as such I tend to leave the endings somewhat open as I believe that readers of this blog have- like me- quite vivid imaginations and can draw their own conclusions as to what the immediate, mid and long term futures are for our unfortunate (?) hero’s fate.
You’re so right about US/DS, Downton and Gosford Park these really portray life in the upper echelons on society in previous ages from the lowly scullery maid in her drab uniform to the elegant mistress in her finest silks and satins. The US drama the Gilded Age looks really good especially for costumes alas I haven’t yet seen it.
Your first fitting! Its sounds very exciting, pity about the tulle petticoat but I’m sure the extra organza will be an excellent substitute and I’m also sure Miss Laura will produce a creation fit for a Duchess.
Again so jealous.
Take care
Carrie
